Homework: Please turn in week 16 & 17 (details on Infinite Campus). If you wish to take the redemption test it can be done 12/17 - 12/20. You must make arrangements ahead of time. Today students took Test 3.1 - 3.4, 5.1, 5.4 and will take the short free response question on Monday (10 minutes to answer it). A final exam review packet was handed out. All students (even seniors) take the first semester final and it is 20% of the semester grade.
Next Monday and Tuesday are review days and the scheduled final exam is in one we Today students had 15 minutes to complete their quiz and then used the
Today we focused on reviewing sections 3.3 - 3.4. Students received a 9 question handout that they had time to complete in class. We went over each problem.
Test tomorrow on 5.1, 5.4, 3.1 - 3.4. Any missing work from this is due tomorrow Today we went over homework questions from 3.3. Then we completed 4 pages of our notes on concavity and the second derivative test. Lastly, students started the Quiz 3.1 - 3.2. This will be finished tomorrow in class (5 - 15 minutes).

Start working on book 3.4. You will have time in class tomorrow to work on book 3.4. Today students received a 4 question review of 3.2. They worked out their answers in class and we went over the 4 questions. They also received back their extended response slip from Friday. We discussed the essential elements of writing a thorough and easy to follow response. Look for this kind of question this Friday on the Chapter test.
Lastly, we completed our notes for section 3.3. Homework: Complete book assignment 3.3 and be ready for Quiz 3.1 - 3.2 tomorrow. Today we went over the 7 questions from yesterday's MVT packet. We also completed the first two examples in our notes for section 3.3. We were able to determine if a function is increasing or decreasing based on the sign of the first derivative. We saw how we could use the first derivative test to determine local extrema.
We also completed an extended response question (from 3.1) and will get feedback on Monday. Homework: Watch the two links below http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LoYQCWbeGnU http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jJb_Qk0O5a0 Today students examined 10 graphs to see how MVT could be used. We found that a function needs to be both continuous and differentiable in order to use MVT.
You will turn in homework from book 5.1, WS Natural Logs & Exponential Derivatives, & Book 3.1 tomorrow. Homework: Complete the questions 1 - 7 in the second packet. Today student's used the first half of class for their quiz on 5.1 & 5.4. The remaining time was used to discuss book assignment
