HW: Complete book 3.1 & complete the conclusion questions from today's activity.
Students completed a warm-up question on finding the extrema on a closed interval. We also went over #23 & #25 form book 3.1. Then we used the last 20 minutes for the in class activity on the mean value theorem that looked at 10 graphs on a given interval and the number of tangent lines that had the same slope as the secant line. Students used spaghetti to help them visualize this.
HW: Complete book 3.1 & complete the conclusion questions from today's activity. Students completed a warm-up activity using related rates (classic falling ladder problem) and also looked at finding the absolute maximum on a closed interval. Then students had time to work on WS 3.1 (Mathboat MC 1 -3 & the problem on the back). Lastly, students used colors to identify 5 key features of a given (cubic) function.
HW: Complete book 3.1 or webassign 3.1 & today's worksheets. We completed our notes on determining the critical numbers of a function and also determining the absolute maximum and minimum values of a function on a closed interval. Students had about 5 minutes to complete any questions from their test last Tuesday.
HW: Complete webassign 3.1 or book 3.1 : page 169 - 170 1 - 21 odd, 25, 27, 39, 54, 57 - 60 Students took their test 2.4 - 2.6 & particle motion.
HW: Turn in HW from these sections. Details in IC: HW 7 - 10. Happy Thanksgiving! Students received back their related rates quiz. We went over 7 problems from the quiz. We also went over 2 pages in the review guide. The answer key to the study guide 2.4 - 2.6 is posted on the AP Calculus AB page.
HW: Test 2.4 - 2.6 & particle motion is tomorrow, 11/22. Turn in your homework from these 4 sections. Details are in IC. We used the first half of class to go over #1 and #2 on WS#2 of related rates. Students used the last 22 minutes to complete Quiz 2.6 with a consultant. Students also had time to work on WS #3 in the related rates packet. ALL 3 worksheets in the packet should be done.
HW: Complete the study guide and WS 2.6 Related Rates MC (Mathboat). Test 2.4 - 2.6 & particle motion will be on Tuesday, 11/22. Today we completed the related rates notes by going over 2 problems which involve cones. We also looked at a right triangle problem that involved the tangent ratio as well as Pythagorean theorem.
Going over yesterday's homework, we did #11 together and set up #12 on the side board. HW: Complete #10 form WS 1 and complete WS #2 (in your 2.6 related rates packet) We will finish out WS #3 tomorrow in class and then take our related rates quiz 2.6. Test 2.4 - 2.6 & particle motion will be on Tuesday, 11/22. HW: Complete WS 1 (skip #10) and start WS 2 in the related rates packet from today. Students received their Quiz 2.5 back and we went over questions on the back page. Then we completed 3 problems together using related rates.

Students received their second motion quiz back. We went over common errors on each set of problems. Then students completed a 6 question review on implicit differentiation. We went over this in class. Students completed the rest of their Quiz 2.5 and made any corrections (except for MC questions).
