We went over FRQs 4, 5, and ) from the 2011 packet. Student are to complete 2 more FRQs from the 2012 packet (should have 1 & 6 done as we went over these today as well). HW: prepare for AP exam We completed questions 1,2, and the first part of 4 for the 2011 FRQ. Everyone will take an AP exam in 1 week. Review session after school on Thursday or come see me 4, 6 or 8th hour. HW: complete question 1 and 6 in the 2012 FRQ packet. We went over the 17 calculator MC question and completed #3 from the 2011 FRQ.
HW: Complete the 2011 FRQs and also complete #2 from the 2012 FRQ packet. Today we went over the 28 non calculator MC questions from yesterday and we also went over 2011 FRQ #3.
HW: Complete the 17 non-calculator MC questions (time limit of 50 minutes) and please complete FRQ #1, #2 and #4 (try to limit the time to 50 minutes for all 3 questions) in the 2011 packet.
Students completed their 8.7 Quiz. Then we went over the 2010 #4 FRQ. Students were also given a copy of the 2011 6 FRQs and asked to complete #3. They were also given 28 non-calculator MC questions. These should be completed tonight. Time limit is 55 minutes.
HW: 2011 FRQ #3 and 1 - 28 on MC questions. We discussed our last topic today, finding the volume of a solid with a known cross section. We were able to see that the volume was an accumulation of particular cross sections. We used the integral to sum up these cross sectional pieces. We completed 5 examples in class.

AP review will be tomorrow during 8th hour and after school. Students completed a warm-up question on area between curves. Then we completed the examples on the back that asked for the set up of the volume of the solid generated by revolving a region around a vertical or horizontal axis. We worked on being able to describe the inner and outer radii correctly.
HW: Complete WS 1 - 3 all parts (a - d). This was given out last Thursday after the quiz. Use your Fast Track to a Five book to start reviewing the multiple choice questions. Right now focus on chapter 6 (no BC material). Students completed 2 AP stuye MC questions. We also went over questions from the 7.1 Quiz. Then we completed our notes on L'Hopital's Rule.

We focused on finding the volume of a solid when the axis of revolution is not on the side of the region. This created a gap through some or all of the solid. The cross section ends up being a washer, so we need to determine the outer and inner radii. I also handed back the 2008 MC questions. Correct answers are on the scantron and we will go over questions on Monday.

Students completed Quiz 7.1. Then the did part "a" on the 3 problem worksheet that was handed out.
