After going over the answers to the WS Related Rates, we started chapter 3. We learned how to find critical points (where the derivative of a function is zero or where it does not exist) and how to find the extrema on a closed interval. Homework is to start working on 3.1 on the assignment sheet.
Just a reminder to go to the Sabre Center tomorrow, 11/28. Seniors will have a study hall so bring your calculus work.
Today we used animation to look at 4 more related rates problems. Students also received their online textbook code and instructions. Tonight's homework is to complete book 2.6 11- 18 and complete your related rates worksheet (1 - 6 should be completed
Before the 2.5 partner quiz, we went over the 4 implicit differentiation problems. We also went through 2 more related rates problem: one with a right triangle (a ladder falling) and the other with a cone being filled. See the links below for more examples.
Homework is to complete the 2.4 take home quiz (so you don't forget your derivative rules) and on the WS Related Rates to complete the first and second page and on the third page to complete #1 and #6 .
After dicussing 3 review problems on implicit differentiation, we went over a 7 step process to solve related rate problems. We looked at two examples, a sphere and a cylinder. We will continue to examine various problems tomorrow. Tonight's homework is to complete 1-7 on the WS 2.5 Implicit Differentiation and to complete the first related rate problem on the Relating Rates Worksheet.
Quiz 2.5 is tomorrow (6 questions) and book 2.5, and your 4 worksheets on implicit differentiation will be collected.

Today we worked in small groups on a review worksheet on implicit differentiation. Tonight's homework is to complete EITHER the evens or odds on WS Implicit Differentiation.
Today we went over 4 more examples of how to find the derivative using implicit differentation. Students also completed their calculator portion of the chapter 2.1 - 2.4 test.
Tonight's homework is page 146 - 148 2 - 14 eve, 22 - 30 even, 34, 38, 48, & 74. Due to the holiday and testing (11/14) homework will be collected on Friday, November 16th.
