Exam will be all multiple choice. Questions 1 - 11, no calculator and questions 12 - 28 with a calculator. Please turn in your books if you have not yet done so.
We went over questions from the semester II final exam review packet. Final exam will be Monday, 5/23.
Exam will be all multiple choice. Questions 1 - 11, no calculator and questions 12 - 28 with a calculator. Please turn in your books if you have not yet done so. We turned in our books today. :)
Students were able to check their work on the final exam review packet with the answer key. Some students worked on the test 7.1 - 7.2 since many were absent on Tuesday. HW: Prepare for the final exam which is on Monday, May 23rd during the regular class period. Some students needed a little more time to complete their test 7.1 - 7.2 from yesterday. Afterwards, students had time to work on their final exam review packet.
HW: Complete your final exam review packet Students completed at least the calculator portion of the test 7.1 - 7.2. Students will complete the non-calculator portion tomorrow if they did not finish it today.
We went over the entire 7.1 - 7.2 review packet. Students should be able to:
1) find the area between 2 curves (either vertically or horizontally) 2) find the volume of a solid formed by revolving around a vertical or horizontal line (need to identify R and r) 3) find the volume of a solid formed given cross-sections (squares, rectangles, equilateral triangles, semi-circles) that are perpendicular to either the x or y-axis. HW: turn in homework and be ready for test 7.1 - 7.2 which is tomorrow, 5/17 Students used play-doh to make a 3-D model of the solid with a given cross section of either equilateral triangles or squares. Then they estimated the volume of the solid and were to calculate the actual volume using calculus.
Check out the video links below for more examples on volumes of solids formed by revolving a region about a vertical line. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fNhLphUjXus http://www.khanacademy.org/math/calculus/solid_revolution_topic/disc-method/v/washer-or-ring-method-for-vertical-line-rotation HW: Complete the review 7.1 - 7.2. Test 7.1 - 7.2 will be Tuesday, 5/17. Final exam on 5/23. Students were given a review of 7.1 - 7.2 to prepare for their test on Tuesday. Students used class time to work on this. I answered some group questions.
Students also received a study guide for their final exam. The final exam will be on Monday, May 23rd during the regular class period. Students will have 30 multiple choice questions to answer. HW: Complete Review 7.1 - 7.2 by Monday, 5/16. Test is on 5/17. Students completed the FRQs today in class; other had study hall. Homework from weeks 11, 12, 13 were collected.
HW: Turn in Homework from weeks 11, 12, 13 Students worked in their in class AP Exam, completing the calculator portion of the exam. Tomorrow students will finish with the FRQ section.
I also worked with students on the 7.2 material (volume of solids of revolution). HW: Complete any work from 7.2. Test on 7.1 - 7.2 will be on 5/17. Students who were in class today completed revisions to quiz 7.2.
HW: Calculator portion of the class AP Exam will be tomorrow. Those not taking the classroom AP Exam will have a study hall. |
