We went to the computer lab for students to complete the 28 question, non-calculator multiple choice test.
Watch the videos from Today 1st hour and 5th hour completed the calculator portion of the online calculus practice test. Students will complete the the non-calculator part tomorrow.
7th hour: see yesterday's blog. Tomorrow period 1 will go to the Computer Lab A in the Sabre Center, periods 5 and 7 will go to D12C. We went over 4 selected graphs from the book 7.1 assignment. We went through the proper setup on those problems. We also went over answers to questions 3, 4,& 5 on WS 7.1.
Next we looked at different animations of rectangles and triangles being revolved around various horizontal lines. We completed #1 and #2 parts (a - c only) on the notes packet. Homework is to complete the set up for #3 and #4 (only parts a - c). Watch the video below for more examples: http://www.khanacademy.org/math/calculus/solid_revolution_topic/solid_of_revolution/v/solid-of-revolution--part-1 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E5OOMbz5jZk http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ithgZfRKMHI http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lE814ngFt3I Reminder for periods 1 and 5: Thursday go directly to room D12C and bring a calculator Today we went through 4 more examples of finding area between 2 curves. THe last two problems we looked at had x in terms of y. The rectangles were horizontal and so we integrated with dy and not dx. Tonight's homework is to complete the book problems for 7.1 and do 3-5 on the worksheet 7.1 that was handed out today.
Today we went through 6 general examples of how to find the area between two curves and made two generalizations. Then we solved two specific area problems. Tonight's homework is to complete the first 5 problems on book assignment 7.1

No calculators on the test tomorrow. Complete the book review on the chapter 5 assignment sheet. Check your answers in the back of the book. :)
Today after our three review questions on section 5.4, we discussed how we could determine a limit by using L'Hopital's Rule. We went through 6 - 7 examples and students are to complete the book problems on page 576 - 577 12 - 18 even, 24 - 40 even, 39 and 88.

Last week's homework was collected.
Tonight's homework is to complete the book problems for 5.5. Looking for more examples, use the link below: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DffQa5SyMSE After completing our warm-up question, we completed our notes on integrating functions that involve e^u. We went through 7 examples and students are to complete the book assignment for 5.4. Assignment sheets were handed out today (also posted on the AP Calc page).
