Students were given the first 20 minutes of class to complete their Circuit Training - factoring trinomials when a = 1 and also complete the 9 question Person Puzzle on Mother Teresa. Then we completed the 5 examples in our notes on how to factor polynomials with 4 terms using the box method.

We collected the Circuit Training - GCF & Difference of Squares. We looked at how to factor trinomials when a= 1. We completed at least 10 examples together. Students were given about 10 minutes in class to work on the Circuit Training - factoring trinomials when a = 1. The last 6 examples we took out then GCF first and then could factor the trinomial.

We completed notes and examples on using the factoring method of difference of squares. Notes are in google classroom. We also started the circuit training together.

Students were given their quiz back from last Friday. Then students had their notes and examples on using the factoring methods of greatest common factor in google classroom. We did about 4 examples together and started the circuit training (did about 4 more) together.

On each of these we calculated the "a" value. Then students used the rest of class to complete their quiz. We collected the WS Graphing in Factored Form (2 pages).
HW: Happy Homecoming! Students had the class period to work on 3 items. First, students are to complete the Desmos activity: Parabola Matching with Factored Form. We also paused for discussion on about 4 of the slides. Second, students are to complete the google classroom quiz on quadratics using standard form. Lastly, complete the packet Graphing Parabolas in Factored Form.
HW: Complete the 3 items mentioned above. Quiz #3 on quadratics in intercept form is tomorrow, 9/21. Students checked their 12 matching problems & 2 graphs from last night's homework. Students used the class to work collaboratively on creating 4 quadratic graphs from intercept form.
HW: Complete the rest of the Graphing Parabolas in Factored Form Packet (page 2 front & back). We checked the first & second graphs together from yesterday's homework. 2nd hour completed a 4 question warm-up (7th hour did theirs yesterday) on graphing from standard form.
Students had time to complete the last 2 graphs on the sheet and they checked their work in class. Then students worked on matching 12 intercept form equations with 12 graphs. HW: Complete WS Graphing in Factored Form - front & back of page 1. We went over about 4 problems from WS 4.2 Form G. This and any missing work was collected. Students have their notes on graphing quadratics using intercept form in their google classroom. We were reminded that a y-intercept can be found by letting x = 0. We completed the first problem on the WS 4.5 Graphing Quadratics in Intercept Form.

Students completed WS 4.2 Vocab Support and we check it in class. Then students completed 1 - 6 on the WS 4.2 Test Prep. We also checked these together. Then students had about 20 minutes for their quiz on standard form.
HW: Complete WS 4.2 Form G and turn in any missing work. |
