We played a Kahoot game to review exponential functions and their applications. Then we went over yesterday's homework on half-life applications. This was collected. Students used the last part of class to check their review with the answer key posted in their google classroom (stream). We also went over questions on the review.
HW: Complete any missing work and be ready for tomorrow's test on exponential functions. We spent the first half of class practicing using the half-life formula we discussed yesterday. We named the 3 given pieces of information and determined what item we were looking for. We also reviewed solving an exponential equation by graphing. Students had time to work on the back side of the Half-Life Applications worksheet. At the end, we went over common errors from the quiz on exponential functions. This is also a good review for Friday's test. Students were also given a review for test #3.
HW: Complete Half-Life Applications worksheet and do the first side of the Review for test #3, which is Friday. We watched a short video(first one below) on what is a half-life and solved 4 - 5 half-life problems. Students were able to use the interactive lesson on their Chromebooks through discoveryeducation.com (sections 2.2, click investigate and #1 Half-Life). Students also received their quizzes back after their revisions yesterday.

We played a Kahoot game to review key features and set up exponential equations. Then we quickly went over our notes on Continuously Compounded Interest, which uses the formula A(t) = Pe^(rt). We did a couple of examples together as well as Test Prep 7-2 problems 1 & 2. I showed how to use the e^x button on the calculator, both scientific and TI-Nspire. Students used the last 10 - 15 minutes of class to make revisions to their quiz from last Friday.

We did a quick review of Exponential Growth and Decay with a Kahoot game. Then we went over questions from WS 7-1 Practice Form G. This was collected with any missing work. Then students completed the quiz on exponential functions. 2nd hour also discussed the continuously compounded interest formula and we did a couple of problems together.
HW: Complete any missing work. Retakes from the last test must be done by 3/21. Next test on exponential functions will be on Friday, March 22nd. We celebrated Pi Day with a Pi Trivia Kahoot. We also played a Kahoot that reviewed exponential functions. Then we went over Test Prep 7-1 & the other side. This was collected. We also went over WS 7-1 #20 together. Students were also give another review WS 7-1 form G.
HW: Complete WS 7-1 form G, quiz on exponential functions is tomorrow, 3/18. Students worked on 4 items today:
1) Completing Desmos: Avi & Benita's Repair Shop 2) Vocab Support 7-1 3) WS 7.1 Practice (1 - 20) 4) (new) Exponential Growth & Decay Practice & Test Prep 7-1. HW: Please complete the 4 items above. Quiz on Friday, 3/15. We completed the rest of our notes, went over WS 7-1 Vocab Support. Lastly, we watch a short clip from Futurama where we verified the account of money in Fry's bank account. We reviewed how to use the graphing calculator.
HW: Complete WS 7.1 - due at the end of class on 3/13. We completed our notes on exponential growth and decay. We used desmos to look at the graph of y = ab^x and were able to see that the "a" was the y-intercept and the b determined if the graph was growth (increase) or decay (decrease). We identified the "a" and "b" values and the equation representing the real-life situation. Then we showed how to use the graphing calculator to use a guess and check technique.
