Students had the entire class period to complete their 13.1-13.5 test.
The last district assessment is tomorrow over 13.4-13.5. Please bring your book to turn it in. We used the class period to complete the Review 13.1 - 13.5. Solutions are posted on the algebra 3-4 page. Click the button below.
HW: Complete any missing work from 13.1 - 13.5. Test over 13.1 - 13.5 will be on Monday, May 22nd. Students were given a review packet over 13.1 - 13.5. They had the class period to work on this. I worked with individuals and with tables.
Test over 13.1 - 13.5 is on Monday, May 22nd. We used the class time to play 2 Kahoot games. One reviewed the trig values on the unit circle and the other matched an equation to a given graph.
HW: Complete the 13.5 packet from yesterday (skip 11 - 16) We went over WS 13.4 Test Prep and collected the 13.4 packet from yesterday. We also put a timeline up for the end of the year. The last 2 assessments will be next week on May 22 and 23rd.
Then we looked at how to find the amplitude: |a|, frequency (b), and the period for a given cosine graph. Then we used those features to create the graph. The cosine graph starts at the "a" value (as long as there is no vertical shift). We reviewed the formula for amplitude: (max - min)/2 and how to find the period of a given graph. We used the formula period = 2 pi/b to determine the period from a given equation. We went over 3 pages of the WS 13.4 packet. 3rd hour also went over the Quiz 13.3.
HW: Complete all of the 13.4 packet Students completed the Quiz 13.3 and then worked on the WS 13.4 Retaching.
HW: Complete WS 13.4 Reteaching. We started by calculating values of the sine function at easy points on our unit circle: 0, pi/2, pi, 3 pi/2 and 2 pi. We plotted these with desmos and the used the animation below to create the graph. We saw the range of values was between 1 and -1; the graph was periodic with a period of 2 pi. We also named the x and y -intercepts. We did the same for the cosine function and compared and contrasted the 2 trig functions. We created 5 of the 6 graphs together in class.
Animation of the the graphs of sine and cosine: http://www.intmath.com/trigonometric-graphs/1-graphs-sine-cosine-amplitude.php https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CWjVy4iTVAI HW: Complete the 6 graphs (4 should already be done) on today's worksheet. Quiz 13.3 is tomorrow, May 12th. Test will be in 1 week! We reviewed radian measures on the unit circle as well as sine and cosine values on the unit circle using 2 Kahoot games. Then we went over the first 2 pages of the WS Radian Measurement.
HW: Complete book 13.3 from yesterday and finish today's packet: Radian Measurement. Quiz 13.3 on Friday, May 12th. |
