2nd went over the front side of the log equations worksheet & completed the riddle on the back. This was collected. 7th hour worked together using their log properties and equation solving skills in the Breakout Edu activity. With about 5 minutes left and a couple of hints, they were able to break into the box.

Those students absent on Friday completed Quiz #10. Other students worked on solving log equations using log properties as part of our review. At the end of class we went over Quiz #10, going over every problem.
Students need to turn in missing work from last week. HW: Complete 1 - 4 & 11 - 14 on the log equations worksheet and complete all of the back side (riddle: drumming math book). Test will be this Thursday, May 2nd. We went over Test Prep 7-4 together to review the log properties. We also played a 10 question Kahoot game that reviewed log properties. Students then completed Quiz #10 on log properties and equations using log properties. 7th hour started working on the front side of a log equations worksheet.
HW: Complete and missing work from this week. Test will be next week on May 2nd. We went through many of the odd questions on WS Kuta Log Equations. Students are to complete the evens on both sides. Many students completed the front side in class. Students were also reminded to turn in their homework from this week.
HW: WS Kuta Log Equations - do all evens. Quiz #10 on log properties and equations is tomorrow, 4/26. We went over 3 different log equation scenarios. The new focus was on using our log properties to solve logarithmic equations. We completed about 8 examples together.

Students had the class period to work on completing WS 7.4 (multiples of 3 up to 36) and the WS 7.4 Reteaching packet.
I came around to students to answer questions. 2nd hour were able to look at their test from April 18th. Students who wish to retake this test must complete the retake process by May 2nd. HW: Complete WS 7.4 Reteaching 1 - 12 & WS 7.4 Practice Form K 1 - 17. Students worked together to evaluate the logarithms from log 1 through log 20. They were asked what they noticed and to identify any patterns.
Students were able to see the properties of adding logarithms [log x + log y = log(xy)]. We also looked at its "sister" property of subtracting logarithms [log x - log y = log(x/y)]. Students complete dthe last page of the activity and we checked conclusions in class. Due to AP bubbling day, 2nd hour had another day of review and their Test #4 will be tomorrow. 7th hour completed their Test #4 (district math assessment) today.
HW: Turn in any missing work by tomorrow, 4/18. 2nd hour students played a 10 question Kahoot game that reviewed solving simple logarithmic equations. 7th hour worked on the Person Puzzle: Sonia Sotomayor. Both classes made a second attempt on their quiz from yesterday. 7th hour went over questions from the review for test #4. 2nd hour should have the review completed by tomorrow.
HW: Complete the review for test #4. 7th hour will have their test tomorrow and 2nd hour will have it on Thursday, April 18th. |
