HW: Complete review for test #4 which is on 4/17 for 7th hour and 4/18 for 2nd hour.
We went over the homework - the last page on the notes. We reviewed our work from last week on converting from exponential to log form and vice versa. Students turned in this page and then we completed the back side of the Log Maze worksheet from last week. During the last 15 minutes, students worked on a quiz and then picked up a review for test #4.
HW: Complete review for test #4 which is on 4/17 for 7th hour and 4/18 for 2nd hour.

We completed our notes on solving exponential equations by isolating the base, power, and number and then changing it into the log form. We also played a Kahoot to review solving simple log equations.
The circuit training - simple logs was collected. HW: Complete the last page of the notes solving simple log & exponential equations. Quiz on Monday, 4/15 on solving simple log & exponential equations. Students used the first 10 - 15 minutes of class to work on the Circuit Training - simple logs. Then we worked through our last notes which focused on solving exponential and log equations. We did many (about 10 examples together).

Quiz tomorrow on solving exponential & log equations. Test will be next week. We worked on the Logarithmic Equations Maze together, first converting form the log form to exponential and then solving the equation. We will work on the back side later in the week. Then we checked the front side of WS Practice with Logarithms and had time to work on the back side in class.

Again, we looked at multiple ways to answer the question, but also trying to answer it in 2 minutes.
Students can complete the Standardized Test Circuit Training that reviews algebra 1, geometry, and algebra 2 from last Friday. HW: Please turn in any missing work, especially on solving exponential equations. We started the first section of multiple choice questions from last year's SAT that does not use a calculator. Again, we looked at multiple ways to answer the question, but also trying to answer it in 2 minutes.
We also practiced changing from exponential form to logarithmic form and vice versa. Students received a Standardized Test Circuit Training that reviews algebra 1, geometry, and algebra 2. HW: Please complete the circuit training by Monday, 4/8, & turn in any missing work, especially on solving exponential equations. We finished up the first section of multiple choice questions from last year's SAT. Again, we looked at multiple ways to answer the question, but also trying to answer it in 2 minutes. Students are getting better at using the guess and check method.

Also, SAT practice is on Khan Academy (use your account). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h9uF4vAPJho We also found the connection between the exponential form and logarithmic form. We practiced being able to change from one form to the other. HW: Please turn in any missing work, especially on solving exponential equations. 2nd hour went through about 12 SAT questions and 7th hour went through about 4 more SAT questions, both watched a short video on what is standard deviation. See the link below.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MRqtXL2WX2M 7th hour completed the notes on what is a logarithm and watched this short video. https://ed.ted.com/lessons/steve-kelly-logarithms-explained HW: Complete and turn in any missing homework. 7th hour: complete WS Logarithms A. 7th hour went over 7 SAT questions. We discussed pacing and strategies for answering the questions efficiently. We also went over questions from the WS Kuta Exponential Equations - no logs. This was collected. We also practiced about 5 - 7 more exponential equations together from today's homework. We also reviewed how to use the Factor option on the TI-Nspire. Students also had time to continue working on this in class.
HW: Complete both sides of WS Solving Exponential Equations. We completed our notes on solving exponential equations where we could use the technique of getting the bases the same (positive base with a value other than 1) then the exponents are equal. We completed 12 problems together. Students were also able to see how they did on their summative assessment before Spring Break. Those students wishing to retake test #3 should have the process completed by 4/16.
