Students used about 30 minutes to work on the Desmos activity: discriminant and the quadratic formula. Students were able to see what happened with the graph as they adjusted the standard form values of a, b, and c. Students were encouraged to make connections and conjectures about the relationship between the discriminant and the number of roots on the graph.
During the last 10 minutes, we worked on a couple problems together from the Discriminant and Quadratic Formula Packet.
