Students reviewed the formula for period and frequency before the quiz. We went over problems from today's homework packet. We also showed how to solve a trig equation by graphing. Students had the last 20 minutes to complete the quiz 13.4  13.5.
HW: Turn in WS 13.5 and complete today's packet on frequency and period. We checked the WS 13.4 Test Prep and turned it in. Then we used the rest of the time to work in the computer lab on a review of amplitude, midline, and the range of the sine or cosine graphs.
Go to student.desmos.com and enter the code REUFN if you need to complete the activity. HW: Quiz 13.4  13.5 is tomorrow. Turn in any missing work! Students used the first half of class and the laptops to use pick the correct graph that another student had chosen by asking a series of yes/no questions (activity was called polygraph periodic functions). Then I showed the class a total of 7 different sine or cosine graphs. Students were asked to identify the amplitude, period, parent function (sine or cosine), identify any reflection over the xaxis and and vertical shifts to the graph. Students then checked their equation by using desmos.

We completed the parent function graphs of y = sin x and y = cos x. Then we also graphed 4 other equations in the form y = a sinx. We saw that "a" affected the min/max values and also created a reflection over the xaxis if the "a" was a negative value.
Then we went to the computer lab to explore the graphs of sine and cosine. Go to student.desmos.com and enter the code 9D24T and complete the activity. HW: Complete the front and back of the Graphs of Sine/Cosine packet. Students used the beginning of class to complete and turn in their stained glass (trig) graphs. Then we completed a summary of the graphs of sine and cosine. We checked the graphic organizer together.

Then we went to the computer lab for students to print out their stained glass graphs and students had some time to start adding color to their print out.

Students used the class period to complete the TINspire activity of graphs of sine, cosine, and tangent and the attached WS 13.4 Reteaching. They used this to identify the amplitude and period of a given sine or cosine function. They were asked to pick 5 of the given functions to make a design they could color in. I'll have colored pencils available tomorrow.
Students received their Quiz 13.1  13.3 back and we talked about the last 2 questions. Overall, they were nicely done! HW: WS Stained Glass Graphs  choose your 5 trig equations We started with a 12 question review of the unit circle using Kahoot. Then students completed their quiz 13.1  13.3.
HW: Complete the TINspire Graphs of Sine & Cosine Activity & the attached WS 13.4 Reteaching. This will be collected tomorrow. We completed the the TINspire activity on the graphs of sine and cosine functions. Students divided the work up among their tablemates and shared information. This activity should be ready to turn in tomorrow.
