We played a Kahoot game to review solving exponential & log equations Then we went over yesterday's quiz. Yesterday's person puzzle was collected. Students used the last part of class to check their review with the answer key posted in their google classroom (stream). We also went over questions on the review.
HW: Complete any missing work and be ready for tomorrow's test on solving exponential & logarithmic equations. We went over questions from WS 7-6 & then collected it. Students completed Quiz 9 on solving log and exponential equations. Students used the rest of class to work on the Person Puzzle and the Review for Test #4 (on Friday, 3/22).
HW: Complete the Person Puzzle - Sonia Sotomayor and the Review for Test #4 We worked through our last notes which focused on solving exponential and log equations. We did many (over 15 examples together).

Quiz tomorrow on solving exponential & log equations. Test will be this Friday, March 22nd. Students complete the district math assessment 11 on exponential functions. Students also had time to work on the Circuit Training - simple logs.
HW: Circuit Training - simple logs. We worked on the Logarithmic Equations Maze together, first converting form the log form to exponential and then solving the equation. On the back side, we encountered some exponential equations that we converted to log form and then solved. A few problems we needed to add two logarithms first, which we used the property log a + log b = log (ab). Then students used the rest of class to work on any of the following electronic reviews for Monday's test: Discovery Education Quiz: Exponential Functions (9 questions)
log into your Khan Academy account and complete Quiz 1, Quiz 2 (5 questions each), and Test (9 questions). Use any of the supporting videos and practice in your Khan Academy account. Use the video links below for review/practice https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CobCw7IOyXw https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Uhz_bQGFfyY HW: Complete the Khan Academy quizzes and test to prepare for Monday's test on Exponential Functions. We celebrated Pi Day with a Pi Trivia Kahoot. Then we went over Quiz #8 from yesterday. We went through every problem. Students were able to check their review for test #3 with the answer key posted in google classroom.
HW: Complete the DE Quiz on Exponential Functions (go to discoveryeducation and log on with your school google account) by Monday, 3/18. Test #3 will also be on Monday. Students used the first 5 minutes to review changing the form from logarithmic to exponential and vice versa. Then students completed quiz #8. Students were given a review for test #3.
HW: Complete Review for test #3, which can be on Friday, 3/15. 4th hour received their quizzes back and we went over common errors. 5th hour will get theirs back tomorrow. We completed notes on what a logarithm is and how it is related to exponential functions. We also evaluated logarithms and were able to go between exponential form and logarithmic form.

Then we completed our notes on solving exponential equations where we could use the technique of getting the bases the same (positive base with a value other than 1) then the exponents are equal.
