HW: Complete WS 4.8 Reteaching (both sides). This was handed out on Friday, 11/9.
Students completed the front of WS Review of Complex Numbers. They also received their quizzes back from Friday. We also reviewed the square root method and with our quadratic equations. This time we generated complex solutions since the discriminant was negative. We completed 4 examples together.

For the first 25 minutes, students were asked to complete the quiz in google classroom on complex numbers and then they worked on WS 4.8 Reteaching. During the last 15 - 20 minutes, students completed Quiz 6 on operations with complex numbers.
HW: Complete both sides of WS 4.8 Reteaching. We went over and collected the Powers of i Worksheet. We did additional examples where we determined the value of some powers of i. Students also worked on WS 4.8 Operations with Complex Numbers as a review of what we learned this week. 7th hour also worked on the quiz in their google classroom.
HW: Complete WS 4.8 Operations with Complex Numbers & the Quiz Complex Numbers in your google classroom. Quiz 6 is tomorrow! We collected the Maze and the Person Puzzle worksheets. We also went over question 7 on the Person Puzzle. Students used the first 10 - 15 minutes to complete 1 - 10 on the back of today's Worksheet: Powers of i.
Lastly, we looked at the pattern with the powers of i by creating a table and rewriting the power with i^0, i, i^2, i^3, or i^4. We saw that we could rewrite this different ways and still have the same value. We demonstrated how to find these values by counting around in a circle with the 4 available outputs. Summary: even powers of i are 1 (divisible by 4) or -1 (not divisible by 4) odd powers of i are i (when /4 the remainder is .25) or -i (when /4 the remainder is .75). Both classes went over the Complex Number Maze. 7th hour was able to check over the 4.8 Test Prep 1- 6. Students had 12 - 16 minutes to work on the Person Puzzle: Yuri Gagarin& 4.8 Test Prep 1 - 6.
HW: Complete Person Puzzle: Yuri Gagarin& 4.8 Test Prep 1 - 6. We started our notes on complex numbers. We looked at the definition of i, and addition, subtraction, and multiplication with complex numbers.
