HW: Turn the in the WS Chapter 13 Practice Test tomorrow and be ready for the chapter 13 test. Additional review is available on www.tenmarks.com. Contact me if you need your login information.
Students grabbed a sticky note from the board and then put up their assigned problems (in designated areas around the room) for the review. We discussed these in class. Then we used the last 8 minutes to play a Kahoot review. We completed about 17 quick questions.

Students received the chapter 13 practice test. Students worked on this during the class period. We will go over this tomorrow in class. The test will be on Wednesday, May 10th. The district assessment, which contains the application portion, will be on Friday, May 12th.
HW: Complete the chapter 13 practice test Students had the class period to wrap up lose ends. Students were to turn in the following items:
Sine & Biorhythms, WS Scavenger Hunt (1 - 10), and the WS Sinusoidal Modeling (2 pages). HW: Complete the WS Modeling: Simple Harmonic Motion (both sides). Assessments will be next week on 5/10 & 5/12. We started class with a 17 question Kahoot game on matching a given sinusoidal graph to its equation. We looked at key features such as amplitude, period, and midline. We also looked at the behavior of the graph at the y-axis to determine if we should use a sine or cosine function.
Next we completed the 3 examples on applications of sinusoidal functions. Students were given a situation and asked to identify the A, B, and C values from the information. We used desmos.com to check our graph and answer 1c. HW: Complete WS applications of sinusoidal functions. Turn in your Biorhythms worksheet. Students used the first 15 minutes of class to complete the Biorhythms activity from yesterday. Use desmos.com and you can print out a graph. Make sure you adjust the window (Xmin & Xmax) by using the gear icon.
Students used the last half of class for a scavenger hunt activity with trig graphs. Working in groups of 3, students named the amplitude, period, midline, and y-intercept from a given trig equation. Then they found the matching graph in the room and then gave the description for the next equation. Students had 10 equations to complete and if done correctly, they should end where they started. HW: Complete any missing work. WS Biorhythms is due on Thursday, May 4th. Students were given 10 graphs and asked to match them with 10 given equations. Students were asked to look at key features such as the amplitude, period, frequency, and the midline.
Students then wrote their own equation for 5 graphs on the back. During the last portion of class students read about biorhythms and were asked to complete the back of the second page. Together we moved on to the interpretation page. HW: Complete WS 13.4 - 13.6 that was given at the start of class. |
