Have a Happy Valentine's Day!
Students completed WS 7.4 Test Prep at the beginning of class. We went over it and any questions from WS 7.4. This was turned in today. We started our notes for section 7.5. For the last 10 minutes, students played a review game of logarithms on Kahoot.it.

Students had the first half of class to complete and turn in their M & M (exponential growth/decay) Labs. Then we discussed how to use the change of base formula and completed 3 examples together. Lastly, we went over questions from WS 7.4 1 -21.
HW: Complete WS 7.4 22 - 38 all. Turn in the lab if you did not do so today. We used the TI-Nspire calculators to help us investigate 3 properties of logarithms. We did a completed 1 - 11 together on the WS 7.4 Practice form K.

Be ready to turn in your M & M Lab from Monday. You will have 20 minutes at the start of class to complete any portion of the lab. Today we did a quick review of material from 7.1/7.2 on exponential growth and decay and review transformations. Then we discussed how we would find the inverse of y = 2^x. We also evaluated logarithms and were able to go between exponential form and logarithmic form.
Students then had 15 - 20 minutes to work with their group on their M & M's Lab from yesterday. Their goal is to be able to interpret and analyze the data they gathered that modeled the growth (or decay) or cancerous cells.
Students also received their quizzes back form last Thursday. HW: Complete the front and back of the first lab of today's math lab. The whole lab is due Thursday, 2/11. Students were given data on the cost of a 30 second Super Bowl Ad over the past 50 years. Students created a graph and we discussed which models: linear, quadratic, exponential served as the best model to predict the cost for next year. We found that the exponential model was best and found the growth rate to be 10%.
HW: Complete today's packet and enjoy the Super Bowl! Students completed their quiz over 7.1 - 7.2. They had the rest of class to complete and turn in yesterday's worksheet.
HW: None if the WS 7.2 Enrichment was turned in. We went over WS 7.2 test prep and also WS 7.2 vocab support. Students turned in WS Drug Filtering Packet and we also went over any questions from book 7.2. That assignment was collected. Students had time to work on the WS 7.2 Practice.
HW: Quiz 7.1 - 7.2 tomorrow; WS 7.2 Enrichment (both sides) will be collected on Friday. Students completed WS 7.1 Test Prep and we went over it in class. Complete the other side for homework. We went over book 7.1 and collected it. Then we discussed what is a half-life [the time required for any specified property (e.g., the concentration of a substance in the body) to decrease by half] and how it is connected to exponential decay. We completed 4 example problems together. Students are to set up 5 - 8 on the half-life example worksheet.
HW: Complete book 7.2 (we added 36, 37, & 43 today), WS 7.1/7.2 Test Prep. WS Drug Filtering packet will be collected tomorrow. 3rd hour received their tests back and we went over common mistakes. 7th hour will get their back tomorrow. We finished the last 2 examples from our 7.1 last Friday. We went over questions from 40 - 42. Then we went over the continuously compounded interest formula, A = Pe^(rt).
