Students created a right isosceles triangle by folding a square in half along the diagonal. Then they computed the ratio of the hypotenuse to the length of the leg by measuring each side. We used GeoGebra to examine our conjecture further and we continued to see that the hypotenuse/leg ratio was about 1.41. We completed our first day of 10.2 notes.
