HW: DO WS 6.2 if you did not turn it in. THANK A VETERAN!
We went over questions from WS 6.2 and it was collected. Then we went to the Veteran's Day Assembly where we heard 3 veterans speak about their experiences.
HW: DO WS 6.2 if you did not turn it in. THANK A VETERAN! We reviewed the 4 properties of a parallelogram, and used them to solve for a variable. Students also received their Unit 3 Tests. Any questions were answered and students were given information on re-assessment. Students had 15 - 20 minutes to work on WS 6.2.
HW: Complete WS 6.2 (both sides) We used GeoeGebra to create a parallelogram and then we examined its sides, angles, and diagonals. We completed all of our notes for 6.2 (in 3rd hour) and need to wrap up the final page of notes in 2nd hour. WS 6.1 was collected from yesterday. We went over any questions on WS 6.1.
HW: Complete WS 6.1 if you have not done so. Go to the soccer games. GO SABRES! We used our work from the WS Dinky King to investigate the number of degress in a triangle and a quadrilateral. Then we used GeoGebra to look at more triangles and quadrilaterals. We found that the sum of the angles in a triangle is 180 degrees and the sum of the 4 angles in a quadrilateral are 360 degrees.
Next we sorted various shapes into two categories: polygon and not a polygon. We were able to use the correct vocabulary to describe the a polygon or explain why the shape was not a polygon. HW: Complete the attached WS 6.1 (both sides). We went over the last 3 pages of the review packet for the unit 3 test. We used the last 20 minutes to play Angle Jeopardy.
HW: Any missing work from unit 3 (angles) needs to be turned in by tomorrow. Unit 3 test is tomorrow, 11/5. Our warm-up problem was to be able to determine the value of the variable so that the given lines would be parallel. We saw that we had 1 obtuse and 1 acute angle so their sum was 180. We could not make the 2 angles equal to each other.
Then students were given a review packet for the angles unit test (this Wednesday). They had 12 minutes to complete page 1 and then we went over questions on page 1. Then students had another 12 minutes to complete page 2 and we went over questions 13 - 15. HW: Complete the review packet. Test is this Wednesday, November 5th. |
