We completed our notes on naming angles and classifying angles. We also were able to identify the angle's vertex and the sides (the rays).

HW: None We went over the entire review packet today in class. Students were also given a sheet of 4 extra practice problems on partitioning a segment. We did the first 3 in class together. Students were also given a username and password to www.tenmarks.com and asked to complete their 2 electronic assignment before tomorrow's test.
HW: Turn in the review packet and any missing work from unit 1 (Geo 1 and Geo 4 in IC). Test tomorrow, 9/15. Students received their segment addition quizzes back. We went over the quiz in class. Students were given a practice test for their first unit test. The first test will be Tuesday, September 15th. Students can:
1) use correct geometric vocabulary & notation 2) use & apply the distance & midpoint formulas 3) use the segment addition postulate 4) partition a line segment into a given ratio HW: Complete the practice test and any missing work. Students completed their segment addition quiz (20 minutes). Then we went over questions 3 and 4 from the homework. Students were also given a review worksheet on distance and midpoint as their homework.

Then we reviewed the first page of yesterday's notes. We completed the 2 example problems together. Students were given a worksheet (6 problems) to practice on. We checked the first problem before students left class. We also set up the second problem.

Segment addition quiz is tomorrow, September 10th. We started with a warm-up question: given A, B, & C are collinear and B is between A and C, AB = x, BC = 2x, and AC = 24; draw the diagram, label it, solve for x and determine AB and BC. We went over this question together and found that the segment was partition in a 1:2 ratio. We also completed our first page of notes on partitioning a line segment. We completed the problem of find the point P that is 2/5 the way from A on the segment connecting A(-6, 4) and B(8, -2). We found the midpoint and also the partition point, P. We used GeoGebra to check.

This was collected. We also went over WS 1.5 and it turn turned in. Students completed a 3 question quiz on distance and midpoint. HW: none if you turned in both worksheets on segment addition. Students received a review of distance and midpoint which they completed the front side in class. Then students used the rest of the class to work on a second segment addition worksheet. We checked the first 5 problems together. We will wrap up segment addition tomorrow and have a short quiz on distance and midpoint.
HW: Complete today's worksheet on segment addition (front and back) and short quiz on distance and midpoint tomorrow. We completed the first 3 pages of our notes on segment addition. Students also completed the missing page from yesterday's quiz (Xerox error). We went over many examples and some used the algebra skills we have been practicing the last couple of weeks.
