Today we quickly went over the vocabulary in section 3.1 which covered parallel lines, perpendicular lines, and skew lines. We also discussed parallel planes. Students were given WS 3.1 to complete in class.
Homework: finish WS 3.1 if it is not done. Tomorrow students not taking the PSAT will meet in Computer Lab A in the Sabre Cent Today we went over the angle bisector warm-up problem. Then we completed and set up problems 38 - 56 even on page 80. These were collected as well as the review worksheet from yesterday. Then students completed the quiz on angles.
Homework: page 80 38 - 56 even (may have completed in class) & your TenMarks assignments on angles Today we worked on in class a review sheet over all the material we covered related to angles (sections 1.6, 2.2 - 2.4). We completed an angle bisector question at the end as an exit slip.
Homework: Complete today's review worksheet At the start of class we reviewd complementary and supplementary angles. We were able to find the complement and supplement of a given angle. Students had time to complete the book assignment (page 118 16 - 25 all) and they also received another worksheet on vertical angles. Both will be collected tomorrow.
Friday there will be a quiz on 1.6, 2.2 - 2.4. Today we collect yesterday's book assignment (2.2). We completed our notes on complementary (angles that add to 90 degrees), supplementary (angles that add to 180 degrees), and vertical angles. We we able to see that vertical angles are always congruent.

We did examples with numbers only and the last 3 needed to use an equation to determine the value of x.
Homework: Book problems from 2.2 that are listed on the last page of your notes. Use the link below for review. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n5L6pesFoUg We completed our notes on 1.6 which involved knowing the 4 classifcations of angles: acute, obtuse, right, & straight. We also used a protractor to measure angles and used the angle addition postulate to determine angle measures.
Homework: Worksheet 1.6 Use the video links for additional review/practice http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NpVZWtFkCZc Today we completed our Unit #2 Test. Afterwards some students completed KenKen puzzles. To play KenKen online go to www.kenken.com .
Today students completed their requiz on slope-intercept form and graphing lines. Students were given a Practice Test to complete in class. Students received feedback on how they did. Our Unit #2 Test is tomorrow, October 3rd. Any missing work from Unit #2 must be turned in by the end of the day tomorrow.
Homework: WS Practice Test & please complete your TenMarks assignment(s) before your test tomorrow. Today we used class time to use the TI-Nspire calculators to determine the equation of a line (lightsaber) given a graph (of a Star Wars character). We were able to see how well our line fit the graph and were able to make adjustments to our equation. We had 8 graphs to examine.
Homework: Complete the given worksheet (1 - 7) Coleman's touchdown. Please complete your TenMarks assignment(s). Any missing work is due this Thursday, October 3rd. We will have our unit test that day. |
