Students completed the NGA portion of their final exam today in class. It is worth 5% of their semester grade and was given district wide.
Homework: Turn in any missing work from chapter 11 & complete quiz 11.1 - 11.3 Students received back their practice NGA from yesterday. We went over each of the 6 questions together in class.
Students used the last 15 minutes to complete Quiz 11.1 - 11.3, Homework: NGA is tomorrow, April 30th, and is worth 5% of semester grade. Please turn in any missing work from chapter 11. We went over any questions on WS 11.3 side B and this was collected.
Then students took the practice NGA in class, using their own best effort. We will go over all 6 questions tomorrow in class. Homeowrk: Quiz 11.1 - 11.3 is tomorrow and turn in any missing work from chapter 11. We completed our notes on arcs of a circle. We found that the arc size (in degrees) is the same as the central angle. We also learned the difference between a major and minor arc and how to name them.
We completed WS 11.3 side A in class together. Homework: WS 11.3 (both sides). This will be collected on Monday. Quiz 11.1 - 11.3 will be Tue We had no class on 4/23 due to students taking the practice ACT.
Due to shortened class periods, we did 5 trig application problems to help prepare for the NGA. THe NGA will be next Wednesday, April 30th and is worth 5% of the semester grade. The NGA is written by the district. Homework: WS 11.2 if it has not been turned in. Today we did a trig review problem of solving a right triangle given two sides. Then we went over WS 11.2 and some students turned it in.
First hour had time to start the notes on 11.3. We completed the first page and part of page 2. Homework: WS 11.2 (both sides) due Thursday, 4/24 We went over any questions from last Thursday's worksheet and it was collected. We also did a review problem from trig on finding 2 sides of a right triangle with an angle of elevation and a horizontal distance.
We completed our 11.2 notes on tangents to a circle. We did review the FOIL process for expanding a binomial. Student had 12 minutes of class time to work on WS 11.2. Homework: WS 11.2 both sides We reviewed the vocabulary on parts of a circle. We also went over the area formula and discussed that an essential question is whether we have a radius or diameter. We completed our notes and 1 sides of the worksheet (class picked which side to complete).
Homework: Complete both sides of WS 8.7/11.1 Students completed a two part test today on quadrilaterals. The first part (15 questions of true/false and fill in the blank) were open notes and discussion with 1 person given 10 minutes to complete. Then students were to complete the individual test. The WS Practice Test was
No homework. To start class, students completed fill in the blank and true/false questions on quadrilaterals. Then we went over the questions together as well as the entire practice test.
