Hav
Today students completed their test on Unit 4. I collected the practice test and any late work from Unit 4. Juniors had Keytrain today.
Hav Today we used class time to do the WS Practice Test for Unit 4. We checked our work in class.
Third hour did additional review on distance between 2 points and and classifying triangles using the Pythagorean theorem. Homework: Study for Unit 4 Test (given tomorrow, 11/26), turn in practice test and any late work for Unit 4. No late work for Unit 4 will be accepted Today (first hour) used spaghetti to invest the triangle inequality. In order to create a triangle, we obsevered that the 2 smaller sides had to have a sum greater than the largest side. We completed the class notes for 4.7.
Homework: WS 4.7 (both sides) and requiz 4.4 - 4.5 for those scoring 10 or lower on the last quiz. Test on the unit will be Tuesday Today we looked at how we could apply the Pythagorean Theorem to screen sizes. We did in class review on Pythagorean theorem and its uses for about 30 minutes and then students took their Quiz 4.4 - 4.5.
Homework: please turn in any missing Today we went over the book assignment 4.5 and collected it. We completed our notes on medians and altitudes in a triangle.
Homework: WS 4.6 and Quiz 4.4 - 4.5 is to Today we went over yesterday's worksheet on Pythagorean theorem. I collected it with the 2 WS 4.4 and Book 4.4 (copied onto the last page of your 4.4 notes).
We completed our notes for 4.5. We saw how we could use the Pythagorean Theorem to classify a triangle by its angles. Homework: Book 4.5 Today I was out sick. :(
Students were given a review worksheet of the Pythagorean Theorem. Today we went over the first 3 problems on WS 4.4 (side A). We used the Pythagorean Theorem to find the missing side of the triangle. We also completed our 4.4 Notes which showed how we could use either the Pythagorean Theorem or distance formula to find the distance between 2 points.

Today students completed their quiz 4.1 - 4.3.
We also discussed how the Pythagorean Theorem can be used to find the missing side of a right triangle. We also were able to see how it relates to the area of the 3 squares made on each side of the right triangle. Check out the links below for more examples. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L7EsAbDX6m8 Homework: Complete the last page of the 4.4 notes (8 - 22). Today we went over the Review Worksheet 4.1 - 4.3. We also went over 6 additional review questions in class.
Homework: Be ready for Quiz 4.1 - 4.3 which is tomorrow (11/14). |
