Today we went over the Quiz 7.1 - 7.3. If a student got a score below 14, a re-quiz will be taken this Monday, March 4th. We also went over questions on Worksheet 7.5. Students used at least 15 minutes of class time to work on the book assignment for 7.5. Both the worksheet 7.5 and the book assignment 7.5 will be collected on Monday, March
Today we went over questions on 7.4 and collected the book assignment. We completed our notes for 7.5 and discussed what proportions could be used to find the missing side of 2 similar triangles.
Tonight's homework is to complete the worksheet attached to today's note sheet. Today we completed our notes on 7.4, SSS and SAS similarity. For homework, students are to complete the book assignment on 7.4. Re-Tests on chapter 6
Due to the lack of papers received from Friday and absent students, we went over the WS Packet 7.1 - 7.3. We also used a diecast NASCAR that was a 1/24 ratio to make estimates about the actual length and width of a NASCAR car.
Students who need to complete their re-test of chapter 6 need to complete it this week Students completed and turned in their review packet 7.1 - 7.3. Then they complet
Today students did a five questions review of proportions (7.1). They were graded and handed back. We also went over questions from 7.3 and that book assignment was collected. Students had the rest of the period (about 20 minutes) to work on the review worksheet 7.1 - 7.3. That will be collected tomorrow before the quiz on 7.1 - 7.3.
After our 3 warm up problems on solving proportions, we went over the homework from 7.2 and answered questions. Then we discussed angle-angle similarity for triangles. We completed our notes for 7.3 and students are to complete the book assignment for 7.3 (page 375 - 376 7 - 26 all) for tonight's homework.
Today for our warm-up we did 3 proportion problems. We completed our notes on 7.2 and students had the last 20 minutes of class to start working on the Book assignment for 7.2 (page 369 - 370 4 - 26 all).
Students who scored a D or E on the chapter 6 test need to complete their correction by the end of class tomorrow. Then one will be eligible for the re-take (this Thursday or Friday). Today we solved 3 proportions as our warm-up problems. Then we work through our notes on similarity. For two polygons to be similar they must be the same shape and all their corresponding sides must be proportional. We discussed that if triangles had all their angles congruent, then they had to be similar. However, this idea does not hold for rectangles. All rectangles are not similar, only if their sides are proportional.

See you Tuesday! Students received their chapter 6 test back. Today we completed our notes on proportions. Students used the rest of class to complete their day 1 and day 2 book assignments (on 7.1). Both of these will be collected tomorrow.
