Today we looked at slope-intercept form and how to graph a line if it is not in that form. We went through yesterday's worksheet (1 - 20). Tonight's homework is to complete today's worksheet 4.6 and have yesterday's worksheet completed. Both will be collected tomorrow. A quiz on slope, slope-intercept form, and graphing lines will be this Friday, November 2nd.
After going over the back of yesterday's worksheet, we talked about slope-intercept form. We found that it is useful to graph a line and also write an equation of a given line. We worked with a parter to match 8 graphs with 8 equations. We also listened to the Slope Intercept Rap. Listen to it again (on better speakers) by using the link below.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=REjcPZeypVg Tonight's homework is to complete the Worksheet (slope day 2). Today we went through 7 examples of graphing lines from given points and then calculating its slope. Tonight's homework is both sides of the Slope Worksheet. Use the link below for review.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=2kMUk_XRvRQ Today we discussed different ways to transform a graphed polygon. We went over vcocabulary (image is the result of the transformation) and coordinate notation to describe the translation. Homework is to complete both sides of Worksheet 3.7.
After a quick warm-up question, students complete their chapter 3 test. At the end we had time for 1 KenKen puzzle. Try more at http://www.kenken.com/
We went over the entire practice test. Then we did a review activity called inner-outer circle where students completed 6 different problems with 6 different partners. Any misisng work for chapter 3 needs to be turned in tomorrow. Chapter 3 test is tomorrow, October 25th.
We did some in class review on the names of angles that were congruent or supplementary gBook assignment 3.5 was collected today. I am missing many 3.5 worksheets. Students received their practice test for chapter 3. Test will be this Thursday.
I was out at a STEM meeting today. Students did receive their quizzes from last Friday. Worksheet 3.5 was collected and students used the class time to complete their book assignment 3.5. Test this Thursday, October 25th, on 3.1 - 3.6.
Today we completed our notes on section 3.5 and students have a worksheet 3.5 to complete (both sides). Students also completed their quiz 3.4. Have a good weekend!
Since we had very few students in class yesterday, we went over questions with the worksheets and had students complete their book assignment for 3.4. We also replayed the Vortex angle classification activity and we went through a 6 questions practice quiz on 3.4. Also, students needing to re-quiz on 3.1 - 3.3 did that today. Tonight's homework is to have yesterday worksheet 3.4 (both sides) completed and be ready for the Quiz 3.4. The link below has a 5 question review of 3.4
