Happy Thanksgiving!
Student completed their test on quadrilaterals.
Happy Thanksgiving! We reviewed unit 4 with the practice test. Students also received their quizzes from last Friday. We went over any questions.
HW: Turn in any missing work, practice test & Unit 4 Test is tomorrow. We went over a fill-in the blank review and true/false review on quadrilaterals. We also went over any questions from WS 6.6.
Students took a short quiz on 6.4 - 6.6 and then picked up a practice test for unit 4. HW: WS Practice Test Unit 4 (quadrilaterals). Test is 11/25. Today we practiced classifying quadrilaterals by the evidence presented. We went over WS 6.6A and then students took turns at the Smartboard with different statements and selecting the correct shapes that met all of those attributes.
HW: Complete the back of WS 6.6 and the short fill in the blank/ true-false review worksheet. Short quiz tomorrow on 6.4 - 6.6. We used the first half of class to review 6.5 (properties of trapezoid). We also went over naming the bases, legs and base angles. We also watched a summary video of attributes of special quadrilaterals.
Then we completed our notes from 6.6 and looked at the evidence in the quadrilateral and were able to classify it. We also used the geoboards to help in our illustrations. Use the link below for a great review of the properties of quadrilaterals. http://www.glencoe.com/sites/texas/student/mathematics/assets/interactive_lab/geometry/G_08/G_08_dev_100.html Test yourself with this short quiz. http://teams.lacoe.edu/documentation/classrooms/amy/geometry/6-8/activities/quad_quest/quad_quest.html HW: WS 6.6 front side only (turn in WS 6.4 and WS 6.5) We completed our notes on trapezoids and watched a short recap video on attributes of various quadrilaterals. Then students used a geoboard to create a quadrilateral with given attributes. They wrote the name of their quadrilateral.
HW: Complete the 2 worksheets (front & back) at the end of the notes 6.4/6.5 packet. Today we completed our notes as we investigated special properties of rectangles, rhombi, and squares. We used GeoGebra for our investiagations.

HW: Complete WS 6.4 (both sides) We went over the practice quiz in class, doing every problem together. Students turned in their WS 6.2/6.3 that they worked on in class yesterday.
Students had 20 minutes to complete the quiz 6.1 - 6.3. HW: None if you are caught up on all of your work (6.1 - 6.3). Students worked the entire class period on WS 6.2/6.3 packet. Students' work was monitored and questions were answered. They also received a practice quiz which should be completed in about 15 - 20 minutes.
HW: WS 6.2/6.3 packet and WS Practice Quiz. Quiz 6.1 - 6.3 is tomorrow. We completed our class notes on 6.3, proving a quadrilateral is a parallelogram. We also completed the first side of WS 6.3 together.
