HW: Practice Test and test on trig is tomorrow.
Students completed their requiz on 10.4 - 10.5 and also had time work on the practice test. Any late/missing work is due tomorrow.
HW: Practice Test and test on trig is tomorrow. We went over every question from Quiz 10.4 - 10.5. Tomorrow there will be an in class re-quiz for those who scored a 2 or lower. We also went over any questions from WS 10.6 day 2. This was collected. Students then had time to work on the diagrams for WS Angle of Elevation/Depression day 2.
HW: Complete any missing work and the diagrams on WS Angle of Elevation/Depression day 2. We went over the angle of elevation/depression homework and it was collected. Students completed their quiz 10.4 - 10.5 on using trig ratios.
HW: WS 10.6 Day 2 Complete both sides (solving a right triangle is to find all the missing sides and angles in that triangle). Test on 10.4 - 10.6 & angles of elevation/depression is this Friday, April 17th. We went over questions on WS 10.6 and this was collected. We also completed our notes on angles of elevation depression. We found that SOH-CAH-TOA is still used, but their gives a context to our problems.

Students had the last 10 - 15 minutes of class to work on WS 10.6 side B.
http://www.themathpage.com/aTrig/solve-right-triangles.htm HW: Complete WS 10.6 (both sides) are due Monday, 4/13. Please turn in any missing work. We reviewed finding a missing side of a right triangle and students completed the short quiz on the trig ratios. Then we completed the first 2 pages of our 10.6 notes, where we found how to find a missing angle in a right triangle when we are given 2 sides. We found the we could guess and check but a much more efficient method is to use the inverse of the trig ratio.

We also listened to Get Triggy to help reinforce the trig concepts.
We also went over #1, #3, and #6 on WS 10.5 Day 2 worksheet. This should be completed and turned in. Use the video links below for more examples. http://www.brightstorm.com/math/trigonometry/basic-trigonometry/trigonometric-ratios-sine/ http://www.brightstorm.com/math/trigonometry/basic-trigonometry/trigonometric-ratios-cosine/ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6ANXTZ1quZM http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1ryTz3mA3qc HW: Complete both sides of today's puzzle worksheet (also turn in WS 10.5 day 1 & day 2). Short quiz on trig ratios is tomorrow. We went over the day 1 homework and found that we can use the trig ratios to find a missing side of a right triangle. We still used SOH-CAH-TOA to help us decide which ratio to use. We completed the day 2 notes.

This will be collected tomorrow. Today we worked on identifying the 3 sides of a right triangle from a given angle. We used the HAND technique to help us identify the hypotenuse and adjacent sides, and then the third side was the opposite side (opposite our Hand). We found the ratios of sine, cosine, and tangent of a given angle with all the sides of a right triangle.
We also completed our day 1 notes. You can use www.desmos.com if you need an online calculator; however, the default angle is in radians and not degrees. Select the icon on the right that looks like a wrench and then select degrees. You'll find the trig ratios when you hit the functions button on the main page. HW: WS Day 1 (10.4 - 10.5) We went over any remaining questions on the 2 review sheets. These were both collected. Then students had 30 minutes to complete their Mini-test on 10.1 - 10.3. Any missing work from 10.1 - 10.3 was also collected. 2nd hour started notes on the 3 trig ratios of sine, cosine, and tangent.
