We completed the last page of the 5.1 packet and turned in WS 5.1 A & B and that last page.
We played a challenge game with the questions from the last page of the 5.1 packet. HW: None if you are caught up on your work. We went over yesterday's review worksheet and then collected it. We looked at various buildings can could identify congruent triangles. Then we completed our notes on congruent triangles and their corresponding parts.
HW: WS 5.1 (both sides: A & B) Students were given class time to complete what they did not finish on WS 4.7. The sub collected these by the end of class. It looks like the other worksheet was not handed out.
HW: WS 4.7 sides A & B should be done and turned in. Since school was closed the past 3 days due to extreme cold, we reviewed our work from 4.6 (medians and altitudes). We also examined different triangles and found that the largest angle is always across from the longest side. We also found that the smallest angle is always across from the smallest side. We also found that if we are given 3 sides of a possible triangle, a triangle can only be formed if the sum of the smaller 2 sides is greater than the third side. So the lengths of 2, 5, 6 will make a triangle; however, 2, 5, 7 will not and neither would 2, 5, 9.

We completed notes on the medians and altitudes of a triangle. Students had about 18 minutes in class to complete the 8 attached problems. I monitored their work.
