Students played a Kahoot game to review the properties of logarithms (7.4). Then students used the rest of class to complete the 7.3 - 7.4 Quiz.
HW: Complete WS 7.4 and the back side: Test Prep 7.4. Mini-test 7.3 - 7.4 will be next week. Students completed a 5 question warm-up on using the log properties. We went over these in class. Then students worked in groups of 4 - 5 students where they quizzed each other with review questions.
HW: Complete WS 7.4 (attached to your 7.4 notes, should have 1 - 21 done). Quiz 7.3 - 7.4 is tomorrow. We worked through a circuit training worksheet that reviewed the conversion between log form and exponential form. We also reviewed the 3 key log properties from 7.4.
HW: Complete WS Solving Exponential Equations (front side). Turn in your WS 7.3 & WS Practice with Logs (1 - 38) We used the period to go over questions from last week's Circuit Training Worksheets. These reviewed SAT math concepts from algebra, geometry, and algebra 2 (this class).
HW: Do you best on the SAT tomorrow! Students received a 5 question warm-up that reviewed work from 7.3. We checked this in class. Then we completed the last page of our 7.4 notes and then completed 1 - 9 together on WS 7.4. Students also received a second circuit training (mixed review 2) to help prepare for the SAT on April 10th.
HW: Complete WS 7.4 1 - 21 & your first circuit training worksheet. Students worked in groups of 3 - 4 students and calculated the values of log 1 through log 20 to investigate the 3 properties of logarithms (product, quotient, & power). Students were able to generalize their properties by using variables. We did this part together. We will finish the last portion tomorrow.

This is due on Monday, April 9th. We went over 3 SAT prep questions to start class. Then students worked on (and most completed) the log maze by solving simple log equations. We also went over WS 7.3 1- 16. Period 7, discussed and turned in this worksheet. Students also received a WS Circuit Training Mixed Review as practice for the SAT, which is on April 10th.
HW: Complete the front side of the log maze and work on the Circuit Training (due 4/9). We spent a second day converting from logarithmic form to exponential and vice versa. By doing so, we were able to solve simple log equations. We completed both sides of the today's worksheet.
HW: Complete WS 7.3 1 - 16. Students received their Test 7.1 - 7.2 back and we discussed questions together. Students who wish to retake must do so by Monday, April 9th.
Then we discussed what's a logarithm? We watched the video below in class. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zzu2POfYv0Y Then we worked together on changing between exponential and log form and vice versa. We also completed the first page (front and back) of our notes on Introduction to Logarithms. Use the video link for review/practice https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wfYsiJcVWy0&list=PLBFAE01DF8EA66352 HW: Complete the attached worksheet on converting between exponential and logarithmic forms. |
