At the start of class, students worked on the Person Puzzle - Mayala Y. We checked this in class. Then we played a quick Kahoot game on simplifying radicals. We also went over questions from 1 - 10 on yesterday's homework. Please turn this in!

We completed our notes on radicals, simplifying radicals, as well as adding and subtracting radicals. The radicals must be identical (like terms) in order to add or subtract them. We also worked with multiplying radicals, where we only need to have the same index

Enjoy the weekend! We played Jeopardy as part of their review, dividing the class into two teams. The answer key to the review is posted on the Stream of their google classroom. Check your work!
Students were encouraged to complete their DE Quizzes: Complex Numbers and Complex Numbers with Equations, as well as any other missing work. HW: Complete the review & any missing work before your test (#4) tomorrow. Bring a scientific calculator for the test! Students worked on their 2 DE (discoveryeducation) quizzes using complex numbers. Both of these should be completed before your test (#4) on Friday, 11/8. Students also received back their paper quizzes from yesterday. Students were also able to work on the Review for Test #4.
HW: Complete the DE Quizzes and the Review for Test #4. Your test is this Friday! Students were given the first 10 - 12 minutes to work on Complex Numbers Entrance Slip #2. We checked this in class. Students were also reminded to complete their DE Quiz on Complex Numbers. Students used the last 15 minutes to complete their (paper) quiz on operations with complex numbers.
HW: Complete both sides of Complex Numbers Entrance Slip #2 & DE Quiz Complex Numbers. Students completed a 5 question warm-up on operations with complex numbers. We went over this in class. Then we completed (1 - 11) on solving equations with complex roots, reviewing the square root method and the quadratic formula.
HW: Complete WS solving equations with complex roots (both sides) & your DE Quiz (go to discoveryeducation.com and log in with school google account) We started by completing 16 - 25 on the (Regents) powers of i worksheet. We checked this in class. Then students worked on their online quiz on operations with complex numbers: DE Quiz (go to discoveryeducation.com and log in with school google account).
