Homework is to complete book assignment 4.6 and the Review 4worksheet

Today we looked at three problems (two graphs and one table) and used GeoGebra to illustrate the trapezoidal rule. Students then completed a partner quiz on 4.5.
Homework is to complete book assignment 4.6 and the Review 4worksheet Today we went over 3 indefinite integrals and discussed whether u-substitution method was useful or not. We went over how to estimate the area under a curve using trapezoids instead of rectangles. Remember the formula for area of a trapezoid is A = 1/2(b1 + b2)h.
Tomorrow there is a quiz on 4.5 (u-substitution method). Tonight's homework is book 4.6. Want more examples of the trapezoidal method click the links below. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8z6JRFvjkpchttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nj89FFoVkUkIn a small group, students completed a 4 question review of 4.5. We went over the 4 questions and answered questions. Then we went over Quiz 4.4. Tomorrow there will be a re-quiz of 4.4 for anyone who had a score of 14 or lower. All scores are posted on IC. Then we used the remaining time to go over questions with the other worksheets on u-substitution method.
Tonight's homework is to read through 4.6 on the trapezoidal method only or watch the link below. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8z6JRFvjkpc http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nj89FFoVkUk Today we used most of the period to go over the 19 questions in the WS FTC Packet. We also went over a few questions from the WS Substitution packet.
The homework that will be collected tomorrow are the following items: Book 4.5, WS FTC (1 - 19), WS Substiution, and WS Students completed quiz 4.4 (FTC & Mean Value for Integrals). Students used the rest of class to work on their book assignment 4.5 and/or the Worksheet 4.5 (6 multiple choice questions).
Today after our 5 question warm-up, we completed our notes on u-substitution method. We completed 1 - 4 in the WS Substitution packet. Students are to complete the rest of the packet tonight and continue working on the book assignment 4.5.
Bring your book tomorrow as you will have class time after your to work on book assignment 4.5.4.4 quizFirst we went over WS 4.2/4.3 and addressed any remaining questions from the book assignment 4.4. Then we went over the 6 step process for using the u-substitution method of integration. The goal is really to make the problem simpler so that it can be integrated easily with the antiderivative rules (recall from 4.1). We went through 3 examples and will continue to do more examples tomorrow.
Tonight's homework is to complete the WS FTC packet (1 - 19). Quiz on 4.4 will be this Friday, 2/22. Want to watch more examples, use the link below http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qclrs-1rpKI http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x06V9xuLdqg Looking for some more practice with this method, use the link below http://archives.math.utk.edu/visual.calculus/4/substitutions.3/index.html After our 5 warm-up questions, we went over one of the FRQ from the pick two (from 4) packet. Then we discussed any remaining questions on the WS Approximations with Rectangles packet. First hour also looked at mean value theorem for integrals graphically.
Tonight's homework is t Today we did at least 5 warm-up questions on determining the area defined by a definite integral with a given graph. Then we quickly discussed the mean value (or average value) for an integral. Students then completed their Quiz 4.2 - 4.3.
Homework is to complete the book problems for 4.4, have the WS Approximating Area Packet completed, and do 1 - 12 on the WS FTC (handed out yesterday). Use the link below for more examples http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iaMDZJdXfiI http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=62Lj-g5owgo Students completed a 4 question review on 4.2/4.3. Students then played find your derivative/antiderivative matching games.
Tonight's homework is to complete the WS Approximating Areas packet (finish page 5 & 6) and do 1 - 9 on the WS FTC packet. Quiz 4.2 - 4.3 is tomorrow. |
