We did a quick review of graphing polynoials. Then students completed the district assessment on graphing polynomials. We used the last 15 minutes to go over questions on the study guide. Students also were able to see their scores on the Summative Quiz 6.1 - 6.5 from last Friday.
HW: Be ready for the final exam tomorrow. All multiple choice questions. The answer key to the study guide is at http://mrsseverson.weebly.com/algebra-3-4.html . Students received their quiz 6.1 - 6.3 back. We went over questions. Then we went over WS 6.5, giving the solutions to 19 - 39 odds. We went over #23. For the last 20 minutes of class we played a 10 question review game using Kahoot.
HW: Be prepared for the summative quiz 6.1 - 6.5, which is tomorrow, 12/16. Students completed the quiz 6.1 - 6.3. We also looked at the graphing method for solving radical equations. We did 3 more equations in our 6.5 notes.
HW: WS 6.5 19 - 39 odds. Students had 15 - 20 minutes to complete the district math assessment on polynomial division. Then we worked through strategies to solve radical equations. We completed 5 equations together. Students focused on isolating the variable (algebraic method) and then eliminating the root by raising each side to the index power and then solving a simple algebra equation.
We also went over questions from WS 6.4 Practice (odds only). Quiz 6.1 - 6.3 is tomorrow. Tomorrow, students will be taking the district assessment on division of polynomials & determining if a binomial is a factor of a polynomial (section 5.4).
We completed our notes over 6.4 (rational exponents). We also completed the WS 6.4 Vocabulary Support in class. Quiz 6.1 - 6.3 is tomorrow, 12/13. Turn in WS 6.3 if you have not yet done so. Students completed the 6 question district assessment of factoring methods. Then students had time to complete WS 6.3. Book 6.2 was collected.
HW: Turn in WS 6.3 on Monday, 12/12. We checked over WS 6.1/6.2 Test Prep. Then we went over dividing radicals, completing the last 3 problems on Tuesday's notes 6.1 - 6.3.

District Assessment on Factoring (6 questions) is tomorrow, 12/9. Review sections 4.4, 5.2, 5.3. This is a summative quiz grade. Since I was out at a Math contest, students used the class period to work on the book assignment 6.2.
HW: book 6.2 We worked through many examples from 6.1 - 6.3 which reviewed the concept of radicals and operations (add, subtract, multiply, & divide) with radicals.
