HW: Students are to complete the 4.1 book assignment or the 4.1 day 2 on webassign. We are moving onto areas tomorrow.
Today students received a worksheet that reviewed antiderivatives. We went over 15 problems together. Then we looked at how to find a particular antiderivative given a point on the original function.
HW: Students are to complete the 4.1 book assignment or the 4.1 day 2 on webassign. We are moving onto areas tomorrow. We completed our notes from section 4.1, completing about 5 examples together. Then we went over the WS 4.1 Antiderivatives (your homework from the weekend). It can be very helpful to have your WS Antiderivative Basics handy if you are not sure of some of the rules.
Students used the last 10 minutes of class to complete their test, if needed. Arrangements were made for those students who were absent on Friday. For more examples use the link below http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7YOZA2EFcKs http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eFY5MQlrF_Y Additional notes at the link below http://www.sparknotes.com/math/calcab/introductiontointegrals/section1.rhtml HW: Please turn in your homework from weeks 3 and 4 if you have not yet done so. Complete book 4.1 through #43 or webassign 4.1. AND watch the following 2 links http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gvdl4XdeNDI http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UN54rR4T4MQ Students took their test on 5.4, 5.1, 5.3, 3.5 - 3.7, & 3.9.
HW: Complete the WS 4.1 Antiderivatives (back side of the 3.6 review we did yesterday) Students received their 3.7 quizzes back and we went over the 4 questions. This helped us in our review of section 3.7. We also did another optimization (distance problem) in class. We also did a review of section 3.6 with a given derivative graph and determining relative extrema and concavity of the original function.
Test tomorrow on sections 5.4, 5.1, 5.3, 3.5 - 3.7 and 3.9. The limit questions are no calculator. AP exam sign up runs from 2/11 - 2/26 in the guidance office. $91 is the cost of the exam with a $50 deposit at the time of sign up. Students that are on free/reduced lunch will need to pay $20.00 to sign up for each test. The big day is on a Tuesday this year, 5/5/15! We went through the topics covered on this Friday's test (5.4, 5.1, 5.3, 3.5 - 3.7, 3.9). Then we did a 3 question review from section 5.3. We then looked at the concept of an antiderivative and we completed the chart on the Antiderivatives Basics sheet.
HW: Complete through # 11 on Antiderivatives Basics sheet and complete any remaining work from 3.9. Students completed their quiz 3.7 in class today. Then they used the rest of class to work on the differentials assignment from 3.9: page 240 7, 10, 15 - 17, 21 - 24.
