HW: Students are to complete the rest of the WS log - exponential equations from yesterday (we did 7 & 8 together) and the back side, WS 7.5 Test Prep. District assessments will be in 1 week.
We completed examples 7 & 8 in our 7.5 notes packet. Students have 16 worked out examples to help them (also more in the book for 7.5 & 7.6). Together we completed the back of the WS Log Maze. Students used the same techniques as the front even though these were natural log (LN) problems.

Students completed the simple log equation maze as their class warm-up. Then we went over all 16 questions from the Quiz 7.3 - 7.4. We worked through problems 3 - 6 in the 7.5 notes packet on solving log equations. We also showed how to store our answer in the calculator and use it to check the answer.

We went over questions from WS 7.4 and collected both WS 7.4 (reteaching & practice) and WS 7.4 Exploring Logarithms.
Students were given a note sheet on solving logarithmic equations which provided steps and many examples, We did the first 2 problems together. Then students had the last 15 minutes to complete the Quiz 7.3 - 7.4. HW: None if you have turned in your 7.4 worksheets (look in IC under standard 12). At the beginning of class, students were reminded about the expectations and dates for completing reassessments of 2 summative assessments: 6.6 - 6.8 needs to be completed by tomorrow, 4/11 and 7.1 - 7.2 needs to be completed by Thursday, 4/13.
Students received a WS 7.4 review of the 3 properties of logarithms. Time was given in class for students to complete WS 7.4 reteaching and the attached practice worksheet. Students were encouraged to work with their tablemates and I came around to each of the table to answer questions. We came back together as a large group and went over #6 together. For the last 10 minutes of class we played a review game (over sections 7.3 - 7.4) using Kahoot. Quiz 7.3 - 7.4 is tomorrow. We reviewed the 3 properties of logarithms that we discovered yesterday. We also showed how to use the change of base formula.
We worked through the problems on WS 7.4. 5th hour was able to play a review game with Kahoot. Use the video links for extra practice/review https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SxF44olWTyk https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yj1AEjFRT2A HW: Complete WS 7.4 Practice Students worked together using the values of log 1 through log 20 to investigate the 3 properties of logarithms (product, quotient, & power). Students were able to generalize their properties by using variables. Then we completed the first 4 questions on WS 7.4.

5th hour spent a second day reviewing concepts for the SAT (which is tomorrow) using another circuit training worksheet. They also received their 7. 1 -7.2 tests back. HW: Get a good night's rest and do your best on the SAT! Since most students are juniors, we watched a short video on the format and content of the math portion of the SAT. All juniors will be taking the SAT on April 5th. This is a requirement for graduation and the SAT score will be on the student's transcript.
Students then worked on a circuit training worksheet that reviewed concepts from pre-algebra, algebra 1-2 and algebra 3-4 as well as a little geometry. This should be completed by tomorrow.
