We did a review of 2.6 by identifying the following from a given graph: the parent function, the transformations, and finally the equation. We went over questions from book 2.7 (#34) and addressed the issue of finding the vertex of an absolute value equation.

Today we used our transformation skills that we learned from section 2.6 to help us graph absolute value equations.

The Buy the Hour Projects were returned to students.
HW: None, if you are caught up on all your section 2.6 work. We went over yesterday's review packet of 2.6 and this was turned in. We also went over book problems from section 2.6 (page 104  105). That was also collected. Then student had the last 25 minutes to work on their WS 1.4  1.6 Review for MiniTest.
HW: WS 1.4  1.6 Review for MiniTest, with the Minitest 1.4  1.6 being tomorrow, 9/25. Students received 1 review packet of 2.6. We completed page 1 in class with our table peers.

On the enrichment page, you will need to put the last 3 problems on some graph paper. HW: Complete today's worksheet packet (2.6). Today we reviewed the names of the function and their corresponding algebraic parent function. We checked the last 5 problems on Friday's Worksheet and checked them on the graphing calculator. Then we played Name that Function from the Given Transformations.
HW: Complete WS Parent Functions (given last Friday) and do page 104  105 10  12, 16  21, 30  33, 42  44. You may put this on the sheet th Students made predictions about what kind of transformation(s) occurred. Then they checked the accuracy of their predictions by graphing the parent function and the transformed function.

HW: Page 111 23  28 Today we took a longer quiz today (2.1  2.4). We used the last 15 minutes of class to investigate horizontal and vertical translations of funtions.
HW: Read section 2.6. We did an in class review on identifying slope, x and y intercepts, and an equation parallel or perpendicular to a given line. We went over any questions from book 2.4 and yesterday's assignment. Book 2.4 was collected. The otheStudents used the last 15 minutes to work on the WS Review 2.3/2.4.
