We completed our simulations of the Let 'Em Roll game. We also completed the theoretical probability questions.
HW: Complete both sides of the WS 11.2 reteaching. Note: 1 is NOT a prime number. We went over book 11.1 and collected it. We also discussed what probability is and how to calculate theoretical and experimental probability. We completed the first simulation of the Let 'Em Roll game from the Price is Right. Through our collective class data, we were able to calculate the experimental probability of winning the car with only 1 roll (of the 5 dice). We will complete the second simulation tomorrow in class.
HW: Complete any missing work from 11.1 We went over WS 11.1 and then collected it. We also had went over the set up of 10 permutation, combination problems.
HW: Complete the book 11.1 assignment We started by watching part 2 of Vi Hart's video on Fibonacci numbers in nature.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lOIP_Z_-0Hs Then we discussed the counting principle, permutations (where order matters) and combinations (creating groups of things where the order does not matter). We showed how to use these items on the calculator as well as the factorial (!) symbol. We completed about half of the 11.1 packet together. HW: Complete the WS 11.1 packet To wrap up our work on sequences we watched Vi Hart's video on Fibonacci numbers in nature.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ahXIMUkSXX0 Students completed the second part of the chapter 9 test and other worked on the pre-assessment of permutations, combinations, and the counting principle. This should be turned in on Monday. Please do what you can. If there are questions you don't know that is fine. HW: Pre-assessment of permutations, combinations, and the counting principle. Students completed the district common assessment covering 9.1 - 9.3 today. Some students will need to finish the second part of the 9.1 - 9.3 test tomorrow.
HW: Turn in 1 of the 2 book review assignments and any missing work from 9.1 - 9.3. Students played 3 rounds of Kahoot to review for the test tomorrow over 9.1 - 9.3. Students also received back their quizzes.
HW: Book review is on page 604 - 605 8 - 16, 18, 22 - 34 even. Students saw another short video on Fibonacci numbers in nature.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P0tLbl5LrJ8 We went over and collected yesterday's review sheet (7th hour turned in book 9.3). Students completed their quiz 9.2 - 9.3. HW: Complete page 578 1 - 4 & page 579 4, 6 - 26, 28, 30 Test will be this Thursday, 4/21 over 9.1 - 9.3 Students started class by watching a short video on the Fibonacci sequence. The link is below.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SjSHVDfXHQ4 Then we played a quiz 10 question review game using kahoot. We also went over the book 9.3 assignment and then collected it. HW: Complete both sides of today's review worksheet. Quiz 9.2 - 9.3 is tomorrow. Test over 9.1 - 9.3 will be Thursday. |
