HW: Complete WS 6.6 - 6.8. Quiz 6.6 - 6.7 is Monday, March 2nd and test will be Friday, 3/6.
Students turned in their book assignment form 6.7. Then they had time to work in their groups on the WS 6.6 - 6.8 packet. I visited each group and all groups had at least their first page checked.

We completed our notes on graphing inverses, writing the formula for the inverse function and determining if the inverse is a function. We used the HLT to determine if the inverse is a function. We watched this short video in class that explained the idea of a function being one-to-one.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9b8Xd77f-qk we also found that the graphs of the original function and its inverse are reflections over the line y = x. Their ordered pairs are also switched. Homework: Book 6.7 Page 410 - 412 10 - 24 even, 30 - 44 even, 48, 50, 76, 77 We went over the WS 6.6 from yesterday and this was collected. Also, WS 6.5 was collected. We started talking about inverse functions and how they "undo" each other. We paired up various mathematical functions that are inverses as well as real-life examples of inverses.
HW: None if you have completed your WS 6.5 & WS 6.6. Mr. Anthony was my sub today, as I was called away just before class due to a sick child. We completed the 6.6 class notes on composition of functions.

Then they had the rest of class to complete any remaining work from section 6.5 (WS 6.5 and WS Extraneous Solutions).
HW: WS 6.5 should be completely done and will be collected on Monday, 2/23. Complete your TenMarks assignment from last week if you have not yet done so. Again we had some juniors out for ACT boot camp. We reviewed how to solve radical equations and we also looked at how to solve other radical equation, given a rational exponent. We found that we could solve them be using the reciprocal power after isolating the power term. We also were reminded that we need to use a plus/minus sign for the two possibilities when working with an even root.
HW: Complete the TI-Nspire worksheet from 2/17. Quiz on radical equations will be Friday, 2/20. Due to us missing many juniors for ACT Boot camp, we completed 4 review radical equations in class. The we nearly completed the TI-Nspire calculator activity on extraneous solutions when solving radical equations.
HW: Complete today's packet and your radical equation assignment on www.tenmarks.com if you have not yet done so. We went over 7 - 10 from yesterday's notes sheet.
Students also received their quizzes back. Then students had the rest of the class period to complete today's homework. HW: WS 6.5 do 1 - 3 and 10 - 16. Also complete your TenMarks assignment by Tuesday. We examined 10 radical equations and discussed various methods that could be used to solve them. We came up with 3 methods: guess & check, graphing, and isolating the variable (algebraic method). We showed how to use the graphing method in class and also demonstrated the algebraic method.

We also checked the front side of WS 6.4. This was collected and then students completed their quiz 6.1 - 6.3.
