HW: Complete both sides of WS 13.4. Tomorrow, go directly to computer lab D12A.

We completed the cosine function graphic organizer and also went over the back page of the sine/cosine graph packet. 6th hour completed a 1/2 sheet as a warm-up. We discussed the similarities and differences between the sine and cosine functions. We also reviewed that amplitude = |a| and that the period = 2*pi/b, where b is the frequency.

Students completed the Sine Function graphic organizer in class. Students are to complete the Cosine Function graphic organizer on their own. 6th hour completed all of the sine graphs and 4 of the cosine graphs in the graphing packet.

We reviewed the TI-Nspire activity on graphing the sine and cosine functions. We used Desmos.com to look at the effects of "a" and "b" on the sine function. We saw that the amplitude = |a| and that the period = 2 pi/b where b is the frequency (the number of cycles in 1 revolution). Students used the rest of class to complete the attached WS 13.4 reteaching.
Students also were able to see their results of the Test 13.1 - 13.3 Retest must be done by May 1st. HW: Complete the attached WS 13.4 reteaching. Students used the class period to complete the TI-Nspire activity of graphs of sine, cosine, and tangent and the attached WS 13.4 Reteaching. They used this to identify the amplitude and period of a given sine or cosine function.

Students turned in their review 13.1 - 13.3 & missing work. They completed their 2 part Test 13.1 - 13.3
HW: Enjoy the sunshine! Students received their quiz 13.1 - 13.3 back and we went over common errors. We played our final Kahoot (29 questions) that reviewed the unit circle. Then students put up solutions to the review. The answer key is posted - click the HONORS ALGEBRA 3-4 tab.
HW: Complete any missing work and your review 13.1 - 13.3. Test 13.1 - 13.3 is tomorrow, 4/19. We started with a 21 question Kahoot to review the unit circle. Then students completed their quiz from yesterday. Students used the rest of class to work on the WS Review 13.1 - 13.3.
HW: WS Review 13.1 - 13.3 & Test 13.1 - 13.3 is this Thursday, 4/19. We went over questions from WS 13.3 and WS Radian Measurement. Both of these were collected. Then we played a Kahoot game to review sine & cosine values on the unit circle. Students used the last 20 - 25 minutes of class to work on their Quiz 13.1 - 13.3.
HW: Start working on the Review 13.1 - 13.3. Any missing work should be turned in. Look under Standard 11. We reviewed the unit circle using the left hand rule (for sine and cosine of the angles). Students played Showdown to quiz each other on the sine & cosine of degree and radian measure angles. Lastly, we played a Kahoot that reviewed the same ideas.
HW: Complete WS 13.3. Quiz 13.1 - 13.3 is on Monday. We will review for the first 15 - 20 minutes. Students completed a 5 question warm-up on right triangle trig and values of the unit circle. We looked at how we could use our left hand as representing the first quadrant of the unit circle. We also showed how to calculate the sine and cosine values at 0, 30, 45, 60, and 90 degrees using the left hand.
Use the link below for reviewing the left hand rule for sine and cosine values. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LE6dmczMc68 Then students assembled the unit circle in degrees and then radians. They used the last 10 - 15 minutes to quiz each other on values (in degrees and radians) of the unit circle. HW: Complete your work from yesterday (page 2 of the WS Radian Measurements). Quiz 13.1 - 13.3 will be on Monday, 4/16. |
