HW: Complete WS 8.3 Practice (front side only: 1 - 20)
We completed the 4 step process on finding the vertical asymptotes (non-removable discontinuity) and any holes (removable discontinuity) as well as determining the horizontal asmyptotes in a given rational function. We completed the 8.3 reteaching worksheet and complete about 10 problems from WS 8.3 Practice.

Today we completed the 8.3 vocabulary support worksheet where we looked into two types of discontinuities: removable (hole in the graph) and non-removable (vertical asymptote). We went over the steps to determine the location and type of discontinuity in the rational function.

Complete WS 8.1/8.2 Test Prep from last Thursday of you have not done so. Students completed the TI-Nspire investigation about the domain, range and asymptotes of the reciprocal function. This was turned in today. Students then had time to complete WS 8.1/8.2 Test Prep.
HW: WS 8.1/8.2 Test Prep We went over WS 8.1 and collected it. Students worked on a graphing calculator investigation on questions about the graph of the reciprocal function. Students should be about half way through the activity. We will finish this up tomorrow in class.
HW: Turn in WS 8.1 if you did not do so today. Students completed their chapter 7 test today. We quickly covered the definition of an inverse variation
(xy = k). We completed about 8 examples together. HW: Complete WS 8.1 Practice (both sides) |
