Students received their quizzes back and we will go over these on Monday. Students will be able to improve their score on Tuesday by completing another question correctly given 2 questions.
As I was closing out our notes from today, I noticed 3 things.
On example 1, I lost the 1/3 as we calculated 8^(-2/3), so the slope of the EOT is 1/12, not 1/4. On example 2, we wrote the slope was e^0 which is 1; however, I wrote "e". So the EOT should be y = x + 1.
Lastly, on #3 dy = the approximate change in y and the problem asked for the "error."
The error amount is the difference between the actual function value and the value from the linearization, L(x). In this case, Error = f(4 + h) - L(4 + h). We will revisit this problem on Monday.
Sorry, long week for Mrs. S.
