We went over WS 4.4 Test Prep & collected the worksheet. Then students worked with a partner on one of the 10 problems from the worksheet puzzle students had 2 days ago. All 10 solutions were worked out on the boards around the room.
Lastly, students started today's WS Circuit Training - factoring when a is not 1. HW: Complete WS Circuit Training - factoring when a is not 1. Reassessments must be completed by Monday, October 2nd. We played a 10 question Kahoot game where students used the checking process to identify the factored form of the trinomial. We reinforced the idea of checking the signs, the first and last terms, and then checking the OI - outside & inside terms. Third hour had 20 minutes to complete any missing homework as well as WS 4.4 Test Prep. 7th hour students completed their quiz and most others had the quiz returned to them.
HW: Complete WS 4.4 Test Prep (on last page of your 4.4 notes packet) & WS Puzzle (1 - 10) that was handed out yesterday. Third hour received their Quiz 4.4 back today and we went over it in class. 7th hour completed their quiz from last Friday. Then we looked at how we could factor a trinomial when a is not 1 nor the GCF. We used the box method and completed about 5 examples together from our 4.4 Factoring Trinomials Notes. Student should have the first 3 pages completed in this packet.

We played a 20 question Kahoot review of factoring trinomials. Then students took their quiz 4.4 (GCF, difference of squares & trinomials).
Yesterday's review worksheet was also collected. HW: Complete any missing homework. Happy Homecoming! Students had time to complete the 2 circuit training worksheets. Both have been collected. Then students worked on more factoring problems with today's worksheet.
Quiz over factoing GCF, Difference of Squares and trinomials with a =1 or a = GCF is tomorrow, 9/22. Turn in your factoring worksheets. We completed about 10 - 12 examples of factoring trinomials where a =1 or a = GCF. Students are to complete the WS Circuit Training - factoring a = 1. We completed the first 5 problems in class.

We played two games of Kahoot to review the factoring skills we learned yesterday: one using the GCF and the other on using the difference of squares. Then we went over questions from the Circuit Training worksheet. Lastly, we completed 5 examples on factoring quadratic trinomials where a = 1 (x^2 + bx + c). Students completed the first page of notes on this.

Students who wish to reassess must complete the reassessment process by October 2nd. Students need to complete all missing homework from Standard 15 (listed in IC), meet with me, and complete any additional prep work and then reassess the test.
We also completed notes and examples on using the factoring methods of greatest common factor and difference of squares.
